Terms of Service
Last updated October 28, 2026
The short version
- Tunestone is free to use. Your songs and notes belong to you.
- Don't misuse the service, attack it, or use it to break the law.
- We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
- Tunestone is provided as is. Keep your own copy of anything important.
These terms are an agreement between you and Tunestone ("Tunestone", "we", "us") and cover your use of the Tunestone website at tunestone.app and the Tunestone apps (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. Who can use Tunestone
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you're under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent or guardian's permission. If you use the Service for an organization, you confirm you're allowed to accept these terms on its behalf.
2. Your account
You can use Tunestone without an account, with your data kept only on your device. To sync between devices, you sign in with a Google account. You're responsible for keeping that Google account secure and for what happens under your Tunestone account. Tell us right away at support@tunestone.app if you think someone else has used it.
3. Your content
The songs, notes, ratings and set lists you add ("your content") stay yours. You give us permission to store, copy, process and display your content only as needed to run the Service for you, such as saving it, syncing it to your devices, and making backups. This permission ends when you delete your content or your account, except for copies in backups that expire on their own.
You're responsible for your content. Don't add anything you don't have the right to store, and don't use the notes field to store sensitive information like passwords or payment details.
4. Acceptable use
When you use the Service, you agree not to:
- break any law, or use the Service to store or share illegal content;
- try to get into other people's accounts or data, or into parts of the Service you're not meant to access;
- probe, scan or test the Service for weaknesses, or get around its security or limits;
- overload, disrupt or damage the Service, including with automated requests, bots or scraping;
- copy, resell or reverse engineer the Service, except where the law allows it;
- create accounts by automated means or to get around a suspension.
5. Suspension and ending your use
You can stop using Tunestone at any time. You can download your data and delete your account in the app under Settings, or by emailing support@tunestone.app.
We may suspend or close your account, or limit your access, if you break these terms, if we need to in order to protect the Service or other people, or if the law requires it. When we can, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to respond. While an account is suspended, its data is kept but can't be accessed or synced.
6. Changes to the Service
Tunestone is a free service that's still growing. We may add, change or remove features, and we may stop offering the Service. If we plan to shut it down, we'll try to give you reasonable notice so you can save a copy of your data.
7. Our content and the Tunestone name
The Service itself, including its design, code, logo and the Tunestone name, belongs to Tunestone and is protected by law. These terms let you use the Service, but don't give you any right to use our name or logo.
8. Feedback
If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them freely without paying you or owing you anything.
9. Third-party services
Signing in uses Google, and the Service runs on providers such as Supabase and Vercel. Your use of your Google account is also governed by Google's own terms. We aren't responsible for third-party services we don't control.
10. Disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't promise the Service will always be available, error-free or secure, or that your data will never be lost. Please keep your own copy of anything important.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Tunestone won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to US$50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
12. Indemnity
If you break these terms or the law while using the Service, and someone makes a claim against us because of it, you agree to cover the reasonable costs that result, including legal fees, to the extent the law allows.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute relating to these terms or the Service will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you and we agree to those courts' jurisdiction. If you live somewhere whose consumer protection laws give you more rights, those rights still apply.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and if the changes are significant, we'll let you know in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using the Service after the changes take effect, you accept the new terms.
15. General
If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a part of these terms right away, we can still enforce it later. You can't transfer your rights under these terms to anyone else without our permission. We may transfer ours as part of a merger, sale or reorganization. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service.
